Estimator / Production Scheduler

Leussink Engineering, located in Wollongong NSW, is a world leading precision engineering company with state-of-the-art CNC equipment, manufacturing components and systems for the mining, heavy industrial, transport, defence, and other critically important industries. They are currently seeking applications to fulfil the critical role of Estimator / Production Scheduler.

The position has the dual responsibility of estimating and scheduling of production work through the complete stages of the manufacturing process. Like all new employees who join the Leussink family, you will be mentored, coached and trained on the Leussink Way and importantly, on some of the world's most sophisticated and modern equipment.

Responsibilities for this very important role include:

Estimating

  • Handle P&A enquiries.
  • Resourceful to seek & develop a solution to the enquiry.
  • Interpret manufacturing drawings and specifications.
  • Determine material, labour, machine requirement & complete a B.O.M;
  • Input data into computer system, complete costing & prepare system quote.
  • Liaise with Sales & assist with issuing of quote to client.
  • Process orders to Production & purchase material.
  • Evaluate actual to estimate, make any necessary database adjustments.
  • Production Scheduling
  • Competency in Leussink's manufacturing, visual scheduling & CRM Software. Training will be provided.
  • Confirm accuracy of order details, material requirements and production capability.
  • Schedule all orders through all stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Liaise with Sales, Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Logistics to expedite the schedule.
  • Constantly monitor, evaluate & adjust schedule through consultation with key staff personnel. Ensure compliance to schedule is maintained.

Ideally you will have the following experience, skills, and attributes:

  • Experience & passion for working with Exact software, or similar.
  • Attention to detail & commitment to accurate estimating & planning.
  • Technical background – trade/degree in metal machinist, engineering or similar.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and order of which those processes are performed.
  • Excellent communication & negotiation/persuasion skills.
