Engineering excellence at Leussink. Pictured is Jason Leussink (Leussink), Mark Fenyes (Omega Sinto) and Stuart Ward (Leussink).

It was an honour hosting Omega Sinto Foundry Machinery Limited chairman Mark Fenyes at our facility last week. Mark, together with Leussink Sales and Marketing Manager, Stuart Ward, met with several Australian customers to reaffirm the partnership between Omega Sinto Foundry Machinery Limited and Leussink.

Leussink is proud to be the sole distributor in Australia and New Zealand for Omega Sinto, providing not only expertise in engineering and the foundry industry, but also a range of service and support solutions, from CNC machining, metal fabrication, and parts qualification to spare parts storage and more.

We sat down with Mark for a quick Q&A session to talk about his trip to Australia.

How important is the Australian market to Omega Sinto?

Omega Sinto has been working with its Australian based customers for over 20 years, and while the industry has reduced in size over this time, we have maintained our presence in this market to support our existing customers to help them to grow.

Why did Omega Sinto form an A/NZ partnership with Leussink?

Omega Sinto has been working with its Australian based customers for over 20 years, and while the industry has reduced in size over this time, we have maintained our presence in this market to support our existing customers to help them to grow.

Why did Omega Sinto form an A/NZ partnership with Leussink?

Omega Sinto has almost 40 years’ experience in the foundry equipment manufacturing industry, specialising in chemically bonded mould production equipment. With the retirement of our locally based Managing Director last year, we were keen to work with a partner that not only had extensive engineering expertise but understood the foundry industry as well. When Stuart Ward joined Leussink twelve months ago, he brought 25 years of foundry industry experience to the table. Our customers get real peace of mind knowing they’re speaking with a person who understands the unique requirements of this niche industry and their individual businesses.

As a well-established family owned and run business Leussink has a long, stable history, which is an important factor being on the other side of the world. The organisation has a very good reputation in the market and that can only compliment what we're trying to do.

What kind of on-the-ground support does Leussink provide to Omega Sinto customers?

As an engineering company that provides complete design, fabrication, and machining services and solutions for all industry sectors, Leussink adds real value by providing on-the-ground support to our customers in Australia and New Zealand. Along with Leussink’s engineering capabilities, they supply ancillary items as well, that complement our equipment; sales & technical support, fault finding, holding spare parts, manufacturing some parts, and of course holding the license from the UK, which is 12,000 miles away. That makes a huge difference.

Omega Sinto is a global operation. What are its areas of specialty?

Omega Sinto’s products range from sand mixing, sand reclamation, thermal reclamation, and mould manipulation to a full range of foundry solutions. Our current focus has been addressing sustainability and helping our customers’ carbon footprint. We are working closely with our Australian and New Zealand customers to develop industry leading sand reclamation solutions whereby foundries can recycle their own sand to various levels to try and mitigate the sand waste. These reclamation systems help process the waste sand on site and reincorporate it back into the manufacturing process, therefore, reducing waste disposal costs and the impact on the environment.

Omega Sinto is a globally respected name in foundry equipment manufacturing, having built a solid reputation for highly specialised chemically bonded mould and core production equipment. Established in the UK in 1984, today Omega Sinto’s products include sand mixers, mould handling equipment, core making machines, shakeouts, sand reclamation plants and sand coating plants.
